LUCANIA. Metapontion. Circa 330-290 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 19 mm, 7.84 g, 11 h). Head of Demeter to right, wearing wreath of grain ears, triple pendant earring and pearl necklace; below chin, EY. Rev. META Barley ear with leaf to right; to lower left, ΛY; above leaf, star. HN Italy 1592. Johnston Class C, 8. Nicely toned and attractive. Slightly rough and with a minor flan fault on the obverse, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
